Most leaders have moved into positions of responsibility after years of demonstrating the ability to get things done.  However, being a great “team player” does not prepare someone to be a great “team leader”. After taking-on more and more responsibilities, people often find themselves ill equipped to make the leap to a leadership mindset; focusing on developing people, producing results through others, rather than simply working harder.  Promotion to a supervisory or leadership role requires new ways of thinking and new skills; the ability to inspire others, to hold them accountable in a supportive fashion, and provide coaching support one on one.  The promotion to a position on the executive team or CEO requires the ability to generate a culture of collaboration, accountability and support…a whole new level of mastery.
